BISTEK (BEEFSTEAK FILIPINO)
Ingredients
1 1/4 pounds sirloin, thinly sliced
1 large white onion, sliced
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 1/4 pounds sirloin, thinly sliced

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oilJuice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon freshly ground black peppercorns
Directions
Pound the beef steaks with a food mallet to make the steaks thinner and tender when cooking. Cut the steaks into serving pieces. Sprinkle each side of the steak with pepper. Put into a bowl then add the marinade. Mix well.
Heat a big pan to medium-high, add 2 tablespoons of oil and fry the white onions until wilted but still crispy. Transfer to a plate.
Cook the steaks in the pan in batches not crowding the pan for 2 minutes on each side. Transfer to a plate.

In a small bowl make a marinade by mixing the soy sauce, lemon juice, and oil.

Put back the cooked onions in the pan and push around to the side of the pan. Next add the cooked steaks. Drizzle the remaining marinade. Arrange the steaks on a serving dish. Add the onions on top.
